Can Öncü on the podium in Mugello and on the mend

Hello everyone,

A few weeks ago we had race in Mugello and in this race I was not 100% ready because I had a bicycle crash that I need to recover from after stitches for a big gash that then burst and needed restitching. But Mugello was really good, there was very long straight and the race went quite well, second place was good for the points and I am now leading the Rookies Cup. After Mugello I had a CEV RepsolrRace in Barcelona and I was not so bad there also and my leg is getting better and I could start to train stronger now.

Next week I have 2 days of testing in Aragon. After that we have the Rookies Cup race in Assen. So in this short time I need to make a lot of training to recover fast. I try to be 100% in Assen because is one of my favourite circuits. So I need to make very good results there. I can say that I’m really very exited to be back in Assen with all Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup riders so hope to see you there everybody.

I’m really sad because last week one of my good friends left us. His name is Andreas Perez. So I’m really sorry but I can only say that we will never forget you. You are in our hearts my friend also in the races you will never be forgotten champion.
